Textural Integration
Hand-woven construction: Natural fibers and mixed media.
Weaving tension and cohesion
My weaving work explores integration through rupture and reassembly. Rather than working on a loom, I cut painted canvases and physically weave them together, binding two distinct stories into a single, inextricable narrative. What begins as separate visual languages is interlaced into a unified field, where no strand can be read in isolation.
This process mirrors the way human experience is held: not as a seamless whole, but as multiple moments that must coexist. The work becomes a material act of integration—bringing fractured inner states, conflicting narratives, and parallel truths into sustained relationship. The woven surface becomes a site where tension and cohesion exist simultaneously, a physical topography in which separation gives way to interdependence, and meaning emerges only through connection.
